It’s my last workday for this year, and it’s time to leave for a much-needed Christmas holiday. The past weeks have gone really fast, including a trip to the INTERACT TA Board meeting to Edinburgh in the end of November. The trip was great, and even though majority of the time was spent in the meeting room discussing the TA recommendations for 2014, we also had a possibility to visit the Edinburgh castle and the extremely beautifully kept botanical gardens.
In December, Kirsi and I first made a short visit to Copenhagen to meet the INTERACT Management Team, and then continued working with the TA decisions that will be finalized in January when we announce the groups receiving Transnational Access in 2014. In addition, we had a call open for grants to two Canadian sites in the INTERACT network, namely to Whapmagoostui-Kuujjuarapik and Kluane Lake. The call raised plenty of interest, and after the currently ongoing evaluation process is completed, we’ll be able to announce the grant decisions in January.
After the holidays, the new year will start with a busy note when we start working on our second periodic report to the EU. It feels like yesterday, when I was making calculations and cross-checking the numbers for the first report! Well, at least in that case I should have the knowledge and process perfected already, and everything should go like dancing on a bed of roses…keeping my fingers crossed for that…
As the final note before heading to the holidays, I want to thank the whole INTERACT, the TA Board, our TA user groups, and all of you following this blog for an incredible and fantastic year! Looking forward to meeting you again soon, and wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Until the next time!
